Rob Perkins, Pastor

I was born in 1953 and raised in the Midwest, one of 6 children, to Harold and Dixie Perkins.

I received my B.A. in Christian Education from Wheaton College in 1975, and then graduated with my M.Div. from Southern Seminary in Louisville, KY. In 1981.

Judy and I were married in June of 1976, and we have been blessed with a son, Nathan, and a daughter, Leah, who are both now young adults. Nathan is married to Natascha, while Leah is married to Landon and have two children (grandchildren) Ethan 4 and Adrielle 2.

I enjoy walking, hiking, fishing, reading, teaching God’s Word, singing, cooking, traveling, and being a grandpa.

My life verse is Isaiah 26:3, and my life-ministry passage is Luke 6:6-11; both of which I would be honored to share and explain in detail if given the opportunity.

During my 40-year full-time ministry career, I served five churches as Lead Pastor, one in Indiana, two in Illinois, one in Arizona, and one in SoCal. At each place of ministry, God worked mightily to bring the church to renewed health and vibrant ministry.

I have had the distinct privilege of traveling to the Holy Land on 5 occasions, leading educational tours with people from the churches I have served, and seeing the Bible come alive through these incredible experiences.

Upon retirement in early 2016, I received intensive training offered by New Church Specialties of Mesa, AZ. This has equipped me to be an intentional interim pastor with churches in transition. I have served in this capacity from January – July of 2017 with the NorthCrest Wesleyan Church of Flower Mound, Texas, and from October ’17 – June 2018 with the EV Free Church of Los Banos, California.

I am now working with TM (Transformation Ministries) and their CHAT (Church Health Assessment Team) as an intentional interim, led by Rev. Mark Bargaehr. Nothing gives me more satisfaction than to see a church honestly face her issues and then deal openly, creatively, prayerfully, and biblically with them to become the “salt and light” Christ intends her to be.

My overall ministry objective is to participate with God as enabled by the Holy Spirit to help the local church come to authentic health by fulfilling both the Great Commission (Matt. 28) and the Great Commandment (Matt. 22).

Jorge Hernandez,

Elder, Men’s Ministry

Hello, my name is Jorge and I serve as an elder here at Cornerstone Church. My wife, Chrissy, and I have been married for almost 12 years and have two great kids, Glo and Caleb. I grew up in Santa Paula, a small agricultural town about fifteen minutes east of Ventura. We decided to move to Los Banos six years ago to be closer to my wife’s family and to give our kids a small town upbringing.

Although I grew up attending the Catholic church with my family as a young kid, I truly came to know Christ after I started attending church with my wife. Once I decided to give my life to Christ, I was fully committed and jumped into becoming a member of our church and serving. I joined bible studies and learned a lot. When we moved to Los Banos, my wife and I quickly found Cornerstone Church, where I am now honored to serve as an elder and use my God-given talents for His purpose.

Besides serving as an elder at Cornerstone Church, I work as a Realtor and sales manager of the local Berkshire Hathaway Home Services branch. When I am not working or serving at church, I enjoy spending time with my family, crossfitting, and bbq-ing.

Chrissy Hernandez,

Children’s Ministry

Hi! My name is Chrissy and I have the pleasure of heading up the children’s and nursery ministry at Cornerstone Church. I have always loved kids and truly believe that, not only do kids have a special place in God’s heart, they each have a calling, from day one, which can impact our world for God. I am always telling them that no matter how young they are, God’s word is for them, too, and He can use them right now to reach those around them.

I came to know Jesus as a small child and have been following Him ever since. I feel incredibly blessed to have had a mom who made sure that I grew up knowing God’s love. I have seen the amazing ways He has changed lives.

I am currently living my life-long dream of being a wife and mother to my two amazing children, Glo and Caleb. They keep me busy and entertained, and I am so happy to have this special time with them as they grow.

I have a passion for the hurting, especially children. I am so excited to be a part of how God will use Cornerstone Church to reach those who need Him in Los Banos.

Aside from the time I spend with my family and at church, I love being active. I enjoy being a member of crossfit, running marathons, biking, swimming, hiking and currently training with my husband for our first Half Iron Man.
